Forgery was held at 2 p.m. on Satruday April 16, 1988 in the Martin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Baird officating. Burial followed in the Grandview Cemetery. Leona Forgery was born December 19, 1906 in Roger Mills County. Afvter her graduation from elk City High School, she worked in an insurance agency for several years. She then worked for the State of Oklahoma for a few years. She then worked for the State of Oklahoma for a few years. In 1939 she began working in the Housing and Urban Development. She joined the WAC during World War II and after he discharge she continued her employemtn as a finace officer with the Housing and Urban Development in Ft. Worth, Texaas. She retired in July of 1969 and moved to Moorewood for a time. She then moved to Leedey where she had made her home since. Surviving family members include two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Martin of Leedcey and Mrs. Marie Reed of Ft. Worth, Texas; two nieces, Oneta Owen of Reydon and Jane Addington of Leedy; three nephews, Billy Forgey of Wellston, Bill Duike of Reydon and James Jay Duke of Salhart, Texas; 14 grand nieces and nephews and 10 great grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
