Miss Freeman came to Roger Mills County in the fall of 1924 to teach at Kiowa, UG#5. She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Freeman and Nona Payne Freeman of Mountin Park, Oklahoma born July 16, 1899 at Dallas, Texas. After teaching at the kiowa School for two years, she moved to Meridian Community to teach at Meridian UG #6. On March 12, 1927, she was married to Dennis Ford of the Kiowa Community at Cheyenne, Oklahoma. To this union were born five children. Frances was predeceased by her husband Dennid, a granddaughter and a great granddaughter. She is survived by sons, Frank D. Ford of Newhall, California and Bill Ford of Morton, Texas; daughtgers, Margaret Norman of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Mary Frances Albright of Levelland, Texas, and Glenna Smyra of Austin, Texas; a brother, John Freeman of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters Louise Fleming of California, Mary Weaver and Gertrude Bernier, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
