"Jake" ford, 67, died December 19, 1989 in the Cheyenne Convalescent Home. Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, December 22, 1989 in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Martin Smith officiating under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Jake, the son of Charlie Thomas and Myrtle Ruth Ford, was born February 22, 1922 in Coulter, Oklahoma. He moved with his parents to Henrietta, Texas in 1938. On November 8, 1940 he married Opal Faye King in Texas and they moved to Herring, Oklahoma, before moving to California in 1942 to work in the shipyards during World War II and later moved to Anadarko before moving to Cheyenne in 1961 to make their home. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Opal, of the home; two daughters and sons in law, Betty Sue and Robert Garis of Fritch, Texas, and Charlene Faye and Preston Phillips of Oklahoma City; two sons, Jimmie J. of Little Rock, Ark., and Donnie Lee and his wife, Karen, of Cheyenne; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Roger Mills Archives http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/rogermills/rogermills.html
