Sallie was born in Denton, Texas to Mary Scott and Thomas Eugene Harris. She moved with her parents to Eldorado, Oklahoma in 1917 where she graduated from high school. On July 3, 1921, she was united in marriage to Forrest Edward For at Matha, Oklahoma. To this union four children were born, two daughters and two sons. In 1942 with her husband she moved to the Crawford Community. At the time of her death she was living in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Sallie was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cheyenne, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest, her parents, three sisters and one brother. She is survived by one sister, Hulett Williams, Denton, Texas; two daughters, Marjorie Massey, Wichita, Kansas; and Dorothy Ator, Denver, Colo; two sons, Roy Ford, Wichita, Kansas; and Gene Ford, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; also nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Aubrey Cowan and Milton Gage officiated at the funeral services for Mrs. Ford which were conducted Friday, December 2, 1983 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of cheyenne with interment following in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Pallbearers were grandsons Ronald Ator, Rucker Massey, Raymond Ford, Roy Ford, Scott Ford and Richard Freeman.
