Freeman, 104 year old Confederate Veteran, uncle of Mrs. Annie Stringellow, Hammon, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Methodist Church of Wetumkla. Mr. Freeman, a Wetumka resident since 1901, died in a Holdenville hospital late Thursday. Mr. Freeman, was born November 22, 1844, in Jasper county, Texas. He was a Texas Ranger before moving to Wetumka. He and Mrs. Freeman had traveled over most of Texas as music teachers. Mrs. Freeman died in 1947, a year after the couple had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Freman, who had been in good health until three months ago, was one of the only four of 79 Confederate Veterans, who attended the 52nd Annual National reunion in 1947, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Survivors are one niece, Mrs. Annie Stringfellow; two nephews, Eugene Hicks, Oklahoma City and Walter Freeman, in Texas.
