She passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Perryton, Texas at the age of 91 years, 1 month and 18 days. Dorothy joined the Berlin Church of Christ as a teenager and was baptized in the Plummer family pond. She was married to Elmer Dean Flenner on November 19, 1937. They had two children, Barbara Ann Martin and Jimmie Dean Flenner. Dorothy was a homemaker and worked along with Elmer on the farm. They made quite a team doing whatever needed to be done together. She sewed for the public, was a great cook, and visitors would usually leave with a jar of homemade jelly, pie, or a dozen eggs. Dorothy loved to quilt and attended the quilting club at Berlin for many years. This kind, gentle woman who had such a sweet smile will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 6 sisters, 4 brothers and 2 infant grandsons. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Barbara Martin, Perryton, Texas; son Jimmie Flenner and wife Sandee, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 3 grandsons, Marty Martin, Perryton, Texas, Scott Flenner, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Tim Martin and wife, Shawna, Bogota, Texas; 1 granddaughter, Shannon Tettleton and husband, Mickey, Norman, Oklahoma; 4 great grandchildren, Shannee, Tate, Tyler and Jessica Tettleton; Dorothy was "Grandma Dorothy" to Travis Perriman and Tyson Creach and a host of other relatives and friends. Those wishing to give contributions in lieu of flowers can give to Westview Boys Home, 120 West Broadway, P.O. Box 553, Hollis, Oklahoma 73555. Services will be held Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11:00 am. at Cheyenne Church of Christ officiated by Tom Harguess. Burial will be at Cheyenne Cemetery under direction of Rosse Chapel funeral Services.
