She was preceded in death by her parents John and Annie Haag, husband Joe I. Flowers, brother Frank Haag, son David Flowers, and grandson Robert Flowers. She is survived by sons Tony Flowers and wife Carleene of Apopka, Florida and Joe D. Flowers and wife Esther of San Antonio, TX, grandchildren Melissa Mance and Jim of San Antonio, TX, Ginger Hernandez and husband Emmanuel f Tijeras, NM, Michael Flowers and wife Angie of St. Joseph, MO, and great grandchildren Tyler Steele and Sydney Claire Flowers of St. Joseph, MO. Lois was a member of the Erick Primitive Baptist Church and lived all of her life in the Sweetwater community until husband Joe's death in 2002, at which time she moved to San Antonio, TX. She wrote the Sweetwater News column for many years which was published in several local newspapers. In her column, she chronicled the local news and community events and activities and also was quite well-known for expressing her feelings about a wide range of topics of local, state, national, and international interest. Funeral Services were held Saturday, September 12, 2009 a 2:00 P.M. at the Sweetwater Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Wrather officiating. Interment will be at the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral service.
