All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Gesell, Crites, Wing, Penner, Harris, Hensley, Williams, McGarraugh, Kisner, Markham, Lamb, Gilliland, Lynn, Thompson Vera Valena Gesell was born February 14, 1909 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Lillie Olive and Clarence Edgar Crites and passed away July 16, 1998 in the Coronado Nursing Center in Pampa, Texas at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 2 days. Mrs. Gesell spent her early years in Delhi, Oklahoma community where she started to school. She later moved with her parents to a farm southeast of Strong City, Oklahoma where she completed her schooling. She was married to George Wing on October 12, 1928 in Strong City where they made their home with his five children, Marie, Lester, Evelyn, Leonard, and Mildred. Three c hildren, Vera, George, Jr., and Clarence, were born to this union. George preceded her in death in 1960. She was married to A.C. "Delph" Gesell in Arnett, Oklahoma on September 21, 1964. At the time of htier marriage A.C. had 4 grown children, Ottilia Markham, Christina Lamb, Eugene Gesell and Otto Gesell. Mr. Gesell preceded her in death December 25, 1974. She was also preceded in death by children and step-children, Mildred Penner, Otto and Eugene Gesell; 2 grandson, Doyle Harris and Eddie Wing; 1 sister Velma Hensley. Valens was a member of the Arnett First Christian Church. She moved to Pampa, Texas in 1988 to live with her daughter, Vera and son-in-law, Irvin Williams later moving into Coronado Nursing Center. Surviving relatives include 3 daughters, Marie McGarraugh of Perryton, Texas, Evelyn Kisner of Austin, Texas, Vera Williams of Pampa, Texas; 4 sons, Lester Wing of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; George Wing of Ft. Worth, Texas, Leonard Wing of Eugene, Oregon, Clarence Wing of Sayre, Oklahoma; 2 step daughters, Ottilia Markham of Ft. Supply, Oklahoma and Christina Lamb of Henyretta, Oklahoma. Also 1 brother, Clarence Crites of Broger, Texas; 4 sisters, Leora (Tootsie) Gillialnd of Erick, Oklahoma, Ethel Lynn of El Cajon, California, Mozell Thompson of Tucson, Arizona, Sylvia Thompson of Moore, Oklahoma; 21 grandchildren many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services were July 20, 1998 at Arnett with burial in the Devolt Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
