Memorial services were Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the First Christian Church of Sayre with Rev. Erenest Ashcraft of Ponca City and Rev. LaVern Draper officiating. Burial was in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma. Born February 3, 1889, in Missouri, Mrs. Gilbert moved to Western Oklahoma as a child with her parents in the early 1900's. She married Hubert Dodson in 1908 at Dempsey. Following the marriage, the couple lived in Ely, Nevada, moved back to Dempsey Community and then settled on a 1913 clain in Union County, New Mexico. The couple moved back to Sayre in 1925 where they owned and operated the Fourth Street Grocery. They sold the grocery to J.B. Puckett in 1930. Then they owned a downtown Saayre grocery store which he operated until his death. Following his death she continued to operate the store for a short time before moving to Doxey to operate a grocery there. She purvchased the store from Mr. Chppell and sold it to Edel Post. Then in 1934 she married Thomas Gilbert in Cheyenne and they operated stores at Reydon, Dempsey, Delhi, Strong City and Mobeetie, Texas. Following her retirement she lived with a daughter until her health failed in 1970. She is a member of the 50th Golden Age Club and a member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by both husbands, Mr. Dodson in 1931 and Mr. Gilbert in 1954; 1 brother, 1 sister, 1 infant daughter and 3 grandchildren. Survivors are 2 daughters, Mrs. Lee (Willa) Flue of Durham, Mrs. Jack (Jewell) Peters of Foss; 1 son, G.H. "Bunk" Dodson of Sayre; 1 step-son J.T. Gilbert of La Mirads, California; 3 step-daughters Ludean Roles of Oregon City, Oregon, Maybelle Lethcoe of portland, Oregon, Madge Gilbert of Washington; 11 step grandchildren; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 brothers: Homer Parman and Aubrey Parman, both of Reydon.
