She was born in Hammon, Oklahoma and grew up in Oklahoma, the daughter of Charley and Alice Miller Stamper. She married Clyde Charley Gilbert in Strong City, Oklahoma and they lived in Southern California until 1948, when they moved to Medford. Mr. Gilbert died January 10, 1997. Several years after her husband's death, Mrs. Gilbert moved to Shedd. A homemaker, she was devoted to her family. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of the Medford First Baptist Church and had headed the church's missionary sewing croup. She was an active member of the Halsey Senior Citizens. Surviving are daughters Roma Brown of Shedd and Peggy Kirschner of Litchfield, Park, Arizona; sisters Mary Rogers of Pueblo, Colorado; and Olga Allen of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren Greg and Mark Brown; and great grandchildren Kaitlen and Marthew Brown. Six brothers and sisters preceded her in death: Robert, Gordon and Clyde Stamper, Thelma Harris, Emma Goin and Georgia White. A private family graveside service was at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford.
