Glassey was born January 10, 1924 in Glazier, Texas, he died Sunday, April 3, 1983 at his home. Mr. Glassey and Bernadine Maxine Suiter were married May 19, 1946, in Gem City, Texas. He was a vetern of World War II and the Korean War. He had worked in the oil field for 25 years. Mr. Glassey lived in Chickasha after moving from Booker, Texas, and has resided in Chickasha for the past 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Glassey, and an infant son, Earnest Doyle Glassey. Survivors include his wife, Bernadine, of the home; three sons, Bobby Lee of Chickasha, Rodney Wayne (Red), also of Chickasha, and Edward Daniel (Rusty) of Wheeler, Texas; four daughters, Patricia Ann Morris of Chickasha, Frances Louise Threadgill of Pampa, Texas; Jessie Fay Rush of Chickasha; and Vaolnda Kay Glassey of the home; two sisters, LaVerne Beason of Baldwin Park, California, Ida Belle White of Dumas, Texas; one brother, Steve of Perryton, Texas; 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for R.V. Glassey, 59, were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 1983 in the Kenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, Rev. Ed Whitley, pastor officiated. Pallbearers were Bobby McMullen, George Holman, John Threadgill, Ronnie Forester, Jimmy Morris and Vester Willougby. Military graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma. Pallbearers were military personel from Ft. Still. Buglar and firing squad were from Ft. Sill Field Artillery Ceneter. Interment was under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
