Gillette were held Wednesday afternoon at the Silent Home church, near Roll. Rev. Ted Cox, pastor of the Baptist church of Cheyenne, officiated in the services. Mr. Gillette, who had made his home in Cheyenne, with his son P.E. Gillette for the past few years. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Elva Hanks of Gridley, California and Mrs. Reta Darnell of Carl Junction, Missouri, and one brother, R.G. Gillette of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and a number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Burial services were under the direction of the Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne. Mr. Gillette was married to Mary Christine Gross in 1886 at Wichita, Kansas. To this union five children were born. The two children having preceded him in death are: Elizabeth Gillette who died in infancy and Raymond Gillette who died at Amarillo, Texas in 1945. His wife preceded him in death in April, 1941. ______________(can't read) moved to Roger Mills county and settled in the Roll community. In 1921 he moved to Rogers, Arkansas where he lived until 1933. He then moved to Sedan, Oklahoma, residing there until 1941. Mr. Gillette then moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma and made his home with his son, P.E. Gillette and family. Mr. Gillette was a typical pioneer, a devoted husband and father, a good neighbor and loyal friend. He was a very active member in the Methodist church earlier in life. He was also an active member in the Odd Fellows Lodge. He is survived by three children: Mrs. Elva Hanks, Gridley, California; Mr. Phil Gillette, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Mrs. Sam Darnell, Carl Junction, Missouri; also fourteen grand-children, twenty great grandchildren; one brother, R.D. Gillette, Tahlequah, Oklahoma and other relatives and friends.
