Christine Adell Giddens Gilmer ALLISON - Christine Adell Giddens Gilmer, 83, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Allison School with the Rev. F.R. Johnson of Old Glory and the Rev. M.C. McDaniel, pastor of United Pentecostal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Zybach Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mrs. Gilmer was born July 17, 1920, to Norville and Bernice Purcell Giddens. She married John Gilmer on March 26, 1934, in Cheyenne, Okla. She lived in the Briscoe and Allison areas all of her life. She was a writer for the Wheeler Times and a homemaker. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Allison. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982; three brothers and a sister. Survivors include a son, Jerry Gilmer and wife, Cathy, of Amarillo; two daughters, Johnnie Harrison and husband, Darrel, of Amarillo and Peggy White of Clovis, N.M.; three brothers, Randy Giddens of Morrilton, Ark., George Giddens and Ray Giddens, both of Allison; a sister, Virginia Jessup of Hydro, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Gregory, Tommy and Weldon Harrison and Marswe Roush, all of Amarillo, Mark White of San Francisco, Matthew White of Clovis, Kristi Ulry of Columbus, Ohio, and Kerri Glass of Deer Park; six great- grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to United Pentecostal Church of Allison.
