All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Gamble, Davis, McCorkle, Evans, Spinner, Madigan, Adams, Vidana, Ommen, Long Gwendolyn Davis Gamble, daughter of John Bryce McCorkle and Polly Acord McCorkle was born near Burma, Oklahoma on October 11, 1904. She departed this life as a patient in the Municipal Hospital at Seiling, Oklahoma on October 1, 1994 at 89 years, 11 months and 20 days of age. she was married to Clarence Davis ans a son, Ray, and a daughter, Elva, was born to this marriage. For a number of years their home was in California. Gwendolyn was a loving mother and a wonderful homemaker. In addiation to her duties of managing the home and caring for her children she found time to create beautiful needelwork and to crochet as well. Upon retiring to Oklahoma in later years. Gwen again took up residence in the area of her childhood. In April of 1960, she married Clifton Charles Gamble and their home and life together was established in Leedey. Both Gwen and Clif were active members of the Leedey Church of Christ and attended faithfully and participated fully in the celebrations of Christ and the Church. Gwen's health eventually failed and she required the special nuring care that she found in the Leedey Nursing Center. Clif entered the nursing center also where he remained faithful to his vow to care for Gwen in sickness as well as in health. Mrs. Gambel was preceded in death by her son, Ray, and by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by her beloved husband, Clifton; by her daughter, Elva Evans of Marysville, California; by 3 granddaughters, Patricial Spinner of Little Rock, Arkansas, Deborah Madigan of Marysville, California and Sandra Adams of Santa Rosa, California; by a grandson, Douglas Evans of Marysville, California; by 3 stepdaughters, Lorene Vidana of Yuba City, California and by Juanita Ommen and Charlene Long both of Leedey, Oklahoma; by her step grandchildren, Roger Ommen of Leedey, Oklahoma, Diane Owens of Buffalo, Oklahoma and Larry Ommen, Darryl Ommen and Rick Ommen all of Marysville, California. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and by other dear relatives and many firends. Services were October 4, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ, Leedey, Oklahoma officiated by Durward Weatherford, minister. Interment was in the Rhea Cemetery, Leedey, Oklahoma with arrangements by Shaw Funeral Home, Leedey, Oklahoma.
