He passed from this life on March 25, 207, at the age of 93, in the Seiling Municipal Hospital. "Jerry" attended public school through the eight grade. In December 1941 he began his ten-year career as a Merchant Marine, traveling to many parts of the world. In 1961, Jerry married Wilma Clark Snider in Ontario, California. He became a loving stepfather to Wilma's sons, Leo and Larry Snider. The family remained in Ontario until the summedr of 1976. Jerry retired from the City of Ontario Street Department and moved to Camargo, Oklahoma. Jerry became very close to Wilma's family, sharing many special times with sister-in-law, Neva Williams and in- laws, Silva and Arthur Carman. He considered Silva and Arthur's children his second family, sharing in their holdiays and familly gathering. Later in life he became close to his two nieces, Marie York and Dorothy Broadway. Jerry also enjoyed a very special relationship with his brother, Earnest Geer. When not working, Jerry enjoyed spending his free time reading history and travel books. As long as their health permitted, he and Wilma would travel each year to Tipton, California where Jerry would work as night watchman at the Melon Shed to help pay for their many travels. After the move to Camargo, Jerry became faithful member of the Leedey First Baptist Church. He became a Deacon in the church and also served as a Sunday school teacher. Jerry loved his churvch family. He was a devoted Christian, father and husband. During his time spent in Ontario, California he was also a Deacon in the Ontaro Baptist Church. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wilma Geer, and numberous brothers and sisters. Those surviving Jerry are his sons, Leo P. Snider of Bakersfieled, California and Larry Snider of Bullhead City, Arizona; by six grandchildren, Lori Bryant, Linda Love, Lance Snider, Lisa Newquest, Paula Beo, and Mary Ka Hall all of southern California; nineteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandson; by several nephews and nieces, and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday, March 30, 2007 in Leedey First Baptist Church with interment following in Riley Cemetery. Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Leeey, Oklahoma.
