Griffey Funeral services for James L. Griffey, 71, a resident of Route One, Sallisaw, were held at the Wheeler Chapel aat 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. O.J. Looper, Heavener, officiating. Mr. Griffey died at his home Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness. He was born at Topeka, Kansas April 13, 1886. Survivors include the wife, Malena Griffey of the home, five sons Everett of Sallisaw, Alfred of Fresno, California, Carl of Stinnett, Texas, Chester of Pampa, Texas, and Frank of New Haven, Connecticutt; three daughters, Mrs. Lafayette McClellan, Strong City, Mrs. Jack Barney, Fresno, and Mrs. J.W. Myers of Tulsa; a brother, C.F. Griffey, a sister, Mrs. Clara Cobb, Golden, Colorado and eleven grandchildren. Burial was in the Sallisaw City cemetery, Sallisaw, Oklahoma directed by the Wheeler Funeral Home. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 1957
