The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Funeral Services for Mary Evelyn Twyman Graybill were held Monday, May 17, 2002, at 10 a.m. at the Leedey First Baptist Church with Brothers' Don Ross and Charlie Murphy officiating. Burial was followed in the New Herman Cemetery, Leedey, Dewey County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Shaw Funeral Home of Leedey. Mary Evelyn Graybill was born on December 19, 1917 in the Trail Community in Dewey County in a half dugout home near the South Canadian River, and died Thursday, Mary 13, 2002 at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City at the age of 84. She was reared in Dewey County on the family farm in the Trail community and graduated from Trail High School in 1936. Upon graduaation from high school, she was employed by the Department of Social Rehabiliative Services for the State of Oklahoma, and attended Southwestern State Normal College at Weatherford. On March 12, 1938, she was united in marriaage to James Nolan Graybill at Weatherford. They resided for a short time on a farm northwest of Leedey and in 1944, purchased the family homestead four miles south of Leedey where she remained until 1986. Shortly thereafter, she moved to town. In 1995 she moved to the Leedey Nursing Center. She was aved and baptizede at an early age in the Missionary Baptist Church. Later she joined the First Baptist Church of Leedey. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Nolan Graybill; a great grandchild, Tyler Graybill; her parents, Thomas and Lula Mudd Tyman; two brothers, Porter and Robert Twyman and one sister, Margaret White. Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Leck and husband Donald of Wichita, Kansas; five sons, Duwayne Graybill and wife Helen of Weatherford, Jerry Graybill and wife Elaine of Alva, Virgil Graybill and wife Wallie of Bethany, Robert Graybill and wife Judy of Clinton, Calvin Graybill and wife Verna of Alv a; three sisters, Mildred Day of Leedey, Lula Mae Britton of Leedey and Lorene Twyman of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-law, Maurine Graybill, Rita Graybill, Naomi "Toots" Graybill, Doris Graybill, Imogene Rounds and Christene Broadbent, eleven grandchildren and twelver great grandchildren.
