All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Surnames: Graybill, Barton, Wiginton, Quattlebaum, Litsch, Kline, Henderson, Gillit, Foster, Watson Raymond Dan Graybill, son of Joe and Cora Graybill, was born near Rhea, Dewey County, Oklahoma on October 5, 1920. He passed from this life on December 14, 1989, while working on his farm southeast of Leedey, at the age of sixty-nine years. Dan attended the Rhea School near his home and grew to manhood here on the Graybill farm, accepting his responsibilities of farm life, along with other members of his family. On October 21, 1939, Dan Graybill and Irene Barton were united in marriage at Cheyenne, Oklahoma. The home was established in the Rhea Community where he spent his entire life, with the exception of five years on a farm near Butler. Dan loved farming and ranching and was totally dedicated to this, his chosen way of life. He especially enjoyed working and caring for his cattle. Three daughters, Linda June, Kay and Patsy Coralee, were born to Dan and Irene Graybill. Patsy preceded her father in death. Dan's love for his family was demonstrated in the many loving ways in which he cared for them and his love and respect for his many friends and neighbors was evident in his daily walk of life. On January 10, of this year, Dan repented of his sins and acdepted Christ as his personal Saviour and became a member of the family of God. Dan Graybill and the good life which he lived and so willingly shared with others, will be fondly remembered by his loved one and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Cora Graybill, his infant daughter, Patsy Coralee and one sister, Ruby Graybill. He is survived by his devoted wife, Irene, of Leedey, two daughters, Linda June Wiginton and husband, Keith of Altus and Kay Quattlebaum and husband, Dennis of Lubbock, Texas; fourr granddaughters, Dana Litsch of Altus, Dena Kline of Irving, Texas, Stacy Henderson of Leedey and Korene Gillit of Lubbock, Texas; two grandsons, Mare Quattlebaum of Lubbock, Texas and Keith Wiginton of Altus and two great grandsons, Weston and Dawson Henderson; two sisters, Alma Foster of Thomas and Emma Watson of Victoria, Virginia; four brothers, Roy Graybill and Frank Graybill, both of Leedey, Clarence (Pud) Graybill of Altamont, Kansas and Albert (Binks) Graybill ow Washington, Maryland; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, and many, many friends, who wil miss this good friend. Funeral services for Dan Graybill were held Sunday, December 17, 1989 at 3:30 p.m in the First Baptist Church in Leedey, with Gary Baird, Keith Wiginton and Forrest Weast officiating. Interment followed in the Rhea Cemetery, Leedey, Oklahoma under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home, Leedey, Oklahoma.
