Burial was followed at 2:00 p.m. in Follett, Exas at the Fairmont Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Danny passed away Sunday, December 13, 1998 after a lengthy illness. Danny was born May 15, 1947 in Shattuck to Homer and Bessie Anderson Green. He married Rayla Williams on May 1, 1977. He worked for Dresser Atlas in Woodward before moving to Louisiana to work on off-shore rigs. He and his family returned to Oklahoma when he started his 15 years career with Phillips Petroleum. He served his country extensively as a Marine. He was a radio-telephone operator in an infantry unit during two tours in Vietnam. Among his many medals of honor, he was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and Combat Action Ribbon. Danny led a full life. He was the best dad and husband a man can be. Danny was a good friend to all, always being considerate to others. He loved his family and friends. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying every day. He loved his work and returning home to his loving family every night. He displayed bravery and courage in his actions and will be missed greatly. Surviving is his wife, Rayla of the home; his son Terry of the United States Military Academy, Westpoint, New York; his daughter Terra of Enid; his father, Homer Green of Shattuck; five sisters, Joyce Barnhill of Oklahoma City, Laveta Whitt of North Carolina, Nova Green of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Gerri Imke of Shattuck, Margaret Hutson, and a brother Zane Green of Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.
