Green were scheduled for today at 2 p.m. at the Savage-Whinery Funeral Service Chapel, with A.L. Martin officiating. Interment was to be in the the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, OK. Green was born May 2, 1918 in Canute, Oklahoma to Mintie Lee and James Daniel Green, and passed away February 5, 1993 in the Westgate Care Center in Amarillo, Texas at the age of 74. He moved with his parents to the Needmore Community, south of Cheyenne, where he attended grade school and later graduated from Cheyenne High School. He attended Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater before entering the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II. After his discharge he lived in Broger, Texas, where he was a mechanic, and later moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico in 1956, where he farmed. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers. Survivors include one brother, Homer Green of Sayre; three sisters, Nettie Sprowls of Sayre, Madeg Erwin of Wheeler, Texas and Frances Watson of Sanford, Texas; special friend Helen Alderson of Tucumcari; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Roger Mills Archives http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/rogermills/rogermills.html
