Guernsey, November 19, 1891. They moved to Grant County, Oklahoma, in 1893 and on to their farm in Custer Bend, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma in 1900, where Mrs. Guernsey died Decembe 4, 1909 aged 42 years and 11 months. Mrs. Guernsey was the mother of six children, four girls and two boys, who are left with their fahter to mourn her loss. She leaves a mother, five sisters and two brothers, who feel that another vacancy hass been made in the family circle which will never again be complete until they meet on the other side where partings are past and there wil be "no more goodys". Mrs. Guernsey, while quite young professed faith in Christ. She united with the Baptist Church at Custer Bend,of which church she remained a consistent member. Having been personally acquainted with sister Guernsey for three years, I can truthfully say that she was a noble Christian woman. She was a mother in the true sens of the word, "having her children in subjection," controlling by the magic wand of love. As a wife she was true and a helpmate indeed. She was kind as a neighbor and friend and was loved and respected by all who knew her. During the passt year she was a great sufferer with neuralgia, which at times was almost beyond endurance. She was modest, unassuming, quiet and will be sadly missed by her neighbors and friends who all sympathies with the bereaved family. The funeral services were conducted at the home on December 7th, after which the body was deposited in the Custer Bend Cemetery as a temporary resting place. W.F. Farrar, Pastor. (Lena was buried in Custer Bend Cemetery later moved to Strong Ciy Cemetery) We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to the kind neighbors and friends who so nobly and unselfishly helped us with their loving words of sympathy and deeds of kindness during the time of our trouble and bereavement.
