"Doc", as we all knew him, spent four and a half months in the service of our country, was honorably discharged from Hamilton Field, California, December 4, 1942. Doc' father, two sisters, Ray and Jewel, 1 brother, Tobe, preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his departure his mother, Mrs. John Hooper, Reydon, Oklahoma; sister, Mrs. Harry Nail, Perryton, Texas; six brothers, Bailey, Reydon, Oklahoma, Ack, San Franscisco, California; Luther and Ross, Reydon, Oklahoma; Coleman, Amarillo, Texas; Bart, Beuna Park, California, other relatives and a host of friends. He was given a military funeral with the American Legion in charge of the services and Rev. M.A. Hawkins as minister. Interment was made in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Fatheree Funeral Home in charge.
