She was born August 21, 1881 in Kingman, Kansas and married October 13, 1897 to John R. Hubbard at Oswego, Kansas. She is a long-time member of the Baptist Church. She and her husband moved to old Day county in 1902 from Welch, Oklahoma, and homesteaded later in the Roll community. She has lived there since. Survivors include four daughters, Miss Carrie Belle Hubbard of the home address, Mrs. Winifred McMurtry, Strong City, Mrs. Mildred Woods, Reydon, Oklahoma and Mrs. Marie Brown, Artesia, New Mexico, five sons, Claude R. Hubbard, Cheyenne, John Everett Hubbard of Strong City, Earnest Elbert Hubbard of Strong City, Frank Walton Hubbard of Lawton and Glen Hubbard of Cheyenne; one brother, Jim Bussert, Pasadena, California; five sisters Mrs. Edna Stockberry, Bellingham, Washington, Mrs. Jessie Johnson, Bellingham, Washington, Mrs. Anna Cranfill, and Mrs ___ Bogges and Mrs. Winnie Kohlet all of Seattle, Washington. The Rev. Horace Woodard and the Rev. Melvin Harrell officated at the services. Burial was in the Silent Home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Scroggins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hubbard was a kind and considerate mother and friend. She proved her patience in her life with her family. Before she passed away, she made this kindly remark to the nurse who cared for her. One evening the nurse inquired as to her welfare, she returned with the remark, "Patience endureth to the end." A phrase so vividly picturing the life of this wonderful neighbor and pioneer.
