Surnames: Hicks, Gantz, Azevedo, Carey, Call Originally posted at: http:\\boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5YB.2ACE/6932 Funeral services were held from the Evans Funeral Chapel in Patterson, California on Tuesday March 27th, 1951 for Benjamin Franklin Hicks, who died in a Stockton hospital after a long illness. Hicks was a native of Bath County, Kentucky, was sixty seven years old and had lived in Patterson since 1932. He is survived by his widow, Flora, and eleven children, Mrs. Winifred Gantz, Boyd, Roy, Warren and James D. Hicks, all of Patterson, and Mrs. Rae Exuviate, Floyd and Quentin Hicks of Modesto; Kenneth Hicks of Los Banos and Mrs. Erma Carey of San Francisco, and Frankie, also of Patterson. Also surviving him are thirty-two grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Two brothers, Earl Hicks of Patterson and Henry Hicks of Crawford, Oklahoma, and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Call of San Francisco. Rev. H.D. Johnson, Modesto, conducted the funeral services. Interment was in the Patterson cemetery. Eight sons served as pall bearers.
