Hagan, passed away Sunday August 17, 1919 about five o'clock in the afternoon, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.A. Beavin of this city. Time spared Garndpa, as he was called, more than the usual number of years, he being ninety-two years of age at the time of his demise. For more than a year he had been bedfast, his eyesight had gone and his hearing was affected, but he bore it all cheerfully and was always buoyant in spirit and maintained an interest in affairs about him. He had made his home with his daughter Mrs. F.A. Beavin, for nine years. The children in the home had become so fond of him that to care for him after he became an invalid was a pleasure. He will be missed in that home but "Grandpa" had lived until this earth held frew charmes for him. His only hope was on the other side. The body was sent to Cecilia, Hardin County, Kentucky, his old home where he had requested the burial to take place.
