Kevin Ballard and Bro. Eddie Beard officiating. Burial will follow in Mayfield Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Sayre. Foy E. Hill was born February 13, 1922 in Mayfield to William Franklin and Sarah Catherine (Witty) Hill and died Wednesday at the age of 83. He spent his early years at Mayfield where he attended school and also attended Harding Christian College in Searcy, Arkansas. He was married to Bessie May Topper on December 29, 1935 in Sayre. Mr. Hill has resided in Beckham County all of his life except for college and a short period of time in Arizona in 1937. They lived in the Mayfield and Erick communities before Bessie's death in 1962. On March 26, 1964, Mr. Hill married Betty Clements at Texola. They made their home in Sayre. Mr. Hill farmed and worked for Turner Grain Company, Erick Farmers Co-Op, Consolidated Gas and 15 years for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. He retired in March of 1979. He was a member of the Sayre Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bessie, one son, Allen, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the Sayre home; three sons, John Hill and wife Brenda of Sayre, Eugene Hill and his wife, Pauletta of Ada and Kenneth Hill and his wife, Shannon of Clinton; one daughter, Sarah Thornbrough and her husband, Dr. Leaford Thornbrough of Sayre; one step- daughter, Carolyn, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
