Mrs. Holly was born January 3, 1901 in Newton Stewart, Indiana. She moved to Oklahoma with her parents at the age of seven. She attended Spring Creek school for a short time. The remainder of her schooling was received at Hammon. She accepted thre Lord as her Saviour at an early age, and joined the First Bapttist church. She was loved and admired by her many friends she made along the pathway of life. In 1919 she was married to Austin R. Smith and to this union four children were born. One preceeding her in death. Later she attended Southwestern State Teachers College, Weatherford, Oklahoma. She followed the teaching profession a number of years--her first being taught at Spring Creek. Mrs. Holly lived in Clinton from 1932 to 1941. While living there she taught at the T.B. Sanitarium from 1934 to 1939. She went from the T.B. Sanitarium to the Clinton CCC Camp as a teacher from 1939 to 1941. In 1941 she moved to Cordell and worked in the Welfare office as a social worker. She advanced to Area Supervisor, and was transferred to Boise City in the panhandle. Disliking that locality, she resigned her position in the latter part of 1944 and moved to Pasadena, California. She was married to Jess Holly on June 26 of this year. At the time of her death, she was employed by the J.C. Penny Co., as a saleslady. The funeral services were held in the Turner & Stevens Chapel, Rev. I.D. Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment was made in Mountain View cemetery in Pasaadena. She is survived by her husband, Jess Holly, Pasadena, California, two sons, Wayne Smith, Oakland, California, Dayne Smith, Pasadena, California; one daughter, Maxine Hicks, tweo grandchilden, Jimmy and Gale Hicks, all of Pasadena, California; her father, Jacob Flick, Hammon; four brothers Howard, Hammon, Paul, Clinton, Jacob, Phillips, Texas, George, San Diego, California; five sisters, Mary Smith, Phillips, Texas, Lois Hubbard, Strong City, Oklahoma, Callie Green, Clinton, Lila Rowell, Guymon, and Beulah Odom, Amarillo, Texas. Her mother and one sister, Nrs. Ruth Seal preceded her in death. Her father and all her brothers and suisters attended the funeral services except Paul Flick and Bedulah Odom.
