He is belieded to have died, October 2, 1988, of a heart attack. Fahter Martin C. Hoehn, 83, was a retired priest of the Diocese who was born and raised in St. Joseph's parish, Astoria. He attended Regis High School, Manhattan and St. John's College and Seminary, Brooklyn. He was ordained April 6, 1930. He served as an assistant at St. Mark's Sheephead Bay, 1930-34; Immaculate Heart of Mary, Kensington, 1934-36 and St. Agatha' Sunset Park, 1936=42. In March, 1942, he entered the U. S. Army as a chaplain and served in that capacity until 1962, when je joined the theology department of St. Francis College, Brooklyn. In 1965, Father Hoehn received a leave from the Brooklyn Diocese and began service in the Diocese of Oklahoma City. He served both Cheyenne and Sayre churches. He retired from active duty in 1971. Msgr. Charles Diviney, who gre up with Father Hoehn in St. Jospeh's parish, recalled that the priest was "a sort of rugged indidualist," who die not hesitate to voice his opinions. One of a family of 12 children,Father Hoehn was described by Msgr. Fiviney as "hard working, energetic, intelligent and very loyal to the Church." Father Hoehn is survived by a sister, Ann Meehtold of Clermont, Florida and Mrs. John Ulrich of Hempstead, L.I.
