Rev. Melvin Harrel preached the funeral sermon. Committal was in the Silent Home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne. Mrs. Hanawalt died at her home in Cheyenne Sunday night after a lingering illness of the past two months. Addie Maria Hanawalt was born at Zaneville, Ohio, September 10, 1863, and died in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, May 27, 1951 at the age of 88 years. She was married to Wm. H. Hanawalt December 30, 1880 at Monticello, Indiana. They came to Oklahoma in 1901 and she resided in the Crawford community most of the time since that date, moving to Cheyenne about a year ago. Survivors include two sons and two daughters, whom are Curtis Hanawalt of Canon City, Colorado, Ralph Hanawalt of Crawford, Oklahoma; Mrs. Grace Warren of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Lottie Thompson of Amarillo, Texas. Four grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive. She had been a menber of the Church of the Brethren for many years.
