Tip Hammon, Hammon, died in an Elk City hospital Monday, May 21, 1051 
after an illness of several years.  Mr. Hammon became seriously ill 
Saturday.

Hammon  had served the city of Hammon as post master for a number of years 
and for the past three years had served as rural mail carrier.  He was a 
veteran of Word War I and was a charter member of the Hammon American 
Legion Post.
