Pastor John Preston officiated, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Harper was born January 30, 1905 at Anadarko, Oklahoma and grew to manhood in the community of Crawford, Oklahoma. A self-employed Realtor with the Harper Agency, he was a 30 year member of the Gideons and had served as a past President of the San Juan Board of Realtors. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; four daughters, Patricia Stallings and joyce Renfro of Farmington, Shirley Saavedra, Albuquerque and Carol Simpson of Littleton, Colorado; three brothers, Kenneth Harper, Levelland, Texas; Forest Harper, Friendwood, Texas and Edgar Harper, Elk City, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, Guy and Jimmie Stallings, Buffie, Julie, Marc and Randy Saavedra, Debbie Rivera, Scott Simpson, Vickie and Aaron Renfro; a great grandson, Shane Rivera and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were deacons of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers were member of the Gideons.
