She was born September 7, 1917 in a farm house on the Washita River near Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Her parents were George and Eva Burnham Parker. Hettie married Stanley W. Harrison, then of Reydon, Oklahoma in 1936. Hettie and her family moved to California in 1947 and subsequently moved to Fresno where she lived for over 40 years. She was employed for twenty years by the Fresno Unitfied School District. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley W. Harrison, her parents, five sisters, a brother and the first girl in her immediate family, daughter-in-law Judy Harrison. Survivors include sons Gary Harrison of Grass Valley, California and Bill Harrison and his wife Linda of Launa Nigule, California, grandchildren, Lora Lee Torxell, Debbie Wilson, Mark Harrison, Alicia Harrison, Ryan Harrison, Craig Harrison and nine great grandchildren. Roger Mills County residents who survive are sister-in-law Henryetta Swartwood of Reydon and brother-in-law Richard Smith of Cheyenne. Hettie was a loving mother and grandmother and devoted the years after the death of Mr. Harrison, a Fresno Unified School District high school administraator, to her family, her church, her job and her many friends. Her family and friends remembered her kind natured, happy demeanor, and love for all. Memorial service were held on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Fresno, California. Burial followed at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno. The family request in lie of flowers, a remembrance be given to the ALS (Lou Gehrigh't disease) Bay Area Association, 140 Geary St., 4th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94108.
