Allen Miller officiating. Burial followed at the Grand View Cemetery. Mrs. Howard, 84, passed away Thursday, November, 28, 2002 at Tina's Guest House in Montrose. Mrs. Howard was born March 21, 1918, as the 10h and last child to William Arthur Clem and Rachel Nofsker in Roger Mills County, near Leedey, Oklahoma. She grew up and was schooled in Leedey, Oklahoma and graduated from Liberty Center in 1936. On July 15, 1937 she married William Henry "Bill" Howard in Arapaho, Oklahoma where they became partners for life, raising two sons and one daughter and becoming active in social activities and crafts. They relocated to Montrose in April 1955. Mr. Howard preceded Mrs. Howard in death March 18, 1999, in Montrose, Colorado. Bill and Norma Howard belonged to two square dance clubs, the Delta Hub Wheelers and the Black Canyon Twilers. A favorite pastime3 of hers was sewing. She was very accomplished at crocheing, developing many beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Survivors include her two sons, William Harold Howard and his wife, Shirley Howard of Montrose, Colorado; Leland Eugene Howard and his wife, Lola Mae Howard, also of Montrose, Colorado; a daughter, Shauna Kay Hovey and her husband Dean, of Montrose, Colorado. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Also preceding her in death in addition to her husband were nine brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial contributions be made to the Montrose FFA Chapter, in memory of Norma Howard, P.O. Box 10500, Montrose, Colorado, 81402.
