Bob Burgess, pastor, and Rev. Lewis Price officiating. Burial was in Shirley Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Mr. Harrel was born September 30, 1909, in Ioland, Oklahoma in Ellis County. His parents, George Washington and Luzetta Susan Dalton Harrel, moved to Bar X in Roger Mills County when their son was 10 years old. Mr. Harrel attended school in Ioland, later finishing in Canadian and Leedey. He joined the Liberty Ceneter Baptist Church in 1951 and transferred his membership in June of 1958 to the First Baptist Church in Leedey. He was married to Ila Mae Britton on September 21, 1940. The couple had four children. Survivors include his wife, Ila Mae, of the home; 2 sons, Robert Hugh of Altadena, California, and George Edgar (Eddie) Harrel of Elk City; 2 daughters, Myrtle Susan Haxton of Leedey and Lily Lois Kandall of Reydon; 2 sons-in-law, Dan Haxton of Leedey and Mick Kendall of Reydon; 2 daughters-in-law, Joan of Altadena, California, and Janeta of Elk City; 8 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Lily Harbor of Vactorchilla, California; Hazel Lovett of Cheyenne, and Dollie McKay of Leedey, and 3 brothers, Henry, Jim and Hugh, all of Leedey. Preceding him in death were his father, mother, 1 sister, Myrtle, 2 brothers, Ray and Lance.
