Ed Sifford delivering the funeral sermon. Services were conducted by the Rebekah Lodge at the graveside in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Arrangements were made by Scroggins and Son. Mollie Casady Herring was born in Mexia, Texas, February 8, 1880. She came with he parents to Cheyenne in 1892 and had resided here continously since a span of 83 years. Immediate survivors include a daughter, Anna Lee Slauter and husband, Bud, Portland, Oregon; a son, Jim Herring and wife Modell of Bakersfield, California; also three granddaughters who resided in her home several years, Lola Anderson, Nezperce, Idaho, Sarah Ann Wallace, Dallas, Texas and Betty McDowell of Lefors, Texas; a sister-in-law Mrs. John Casady, Cheyenne. Also surviving are other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A daughter Bertha Cockrell and her husband, Bob Herring preceded her in death. Mollie was a charter member of the Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge of Cheyenne. During the Works Progress Administration in the 1930's, she was supervisor of the Cheyenne Sewing Room. Later she supervised the school lunch program in this city for fiffteen years. She passed from life on May 31, 1975 in the Cheyenne Convalescent Hospital at the age of 95 years.
