Claude was riding the hay loader on SH 34 a mile north of the Roger Mills County town. The loader, ridden by two other Hammon teen- agers, ran over Herndon after he lost his balance and fell off the machine. Herndon was the son of Wendell and Delphelenia Herndon of Hammon. He was born June 4, 1959. Interment in Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
