Funeral services were held Satufday, April 27, 1996 at the Martin Funeral Chapel in Elk City with Rev. Henry Fletcher officating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, under the direction of Martin Funeral Home. Mrs. Harmon, the daughtger of Alvin and Pernedia Reed Laxton, was born on Nobember 11, 1905 in Berlin, Oklahoma. She attended school in Berlin and married James "Eddie" Harmon on June 5, 1921, in Cheyenne. They began farming in the Roger Mills and Beckham County areas. They moved to Elk City in 1982. She was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church. Mr. Harmon preceded her in death on November 21, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son and his wife, Adrian and Marie Harmon, six brothers, four sisters, one grandson and a son-in-law, Raymon Jones. She is survived by one son, Garvin Harmon of Oklahoma City; two daughers, Lucille Jones of Elk City and Lavetta Clark of Sayre; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
