He as the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Haigood who live near Cheyenne. Homer lived all of his life in Roger Mills County making friends of all with whom he made acquaintance. He attended school at the Anderson school then at Washita, and later at Cheyenne grade and high school. After an illness of several days, Homer passed to his reward in a hospital in Oklahoma City, May 5, 1934. He leaves to mourn his loss, his father and mother, three brothers, Clarence of Elk City, Alva and Wallace of Cheyenne and two sisters, Erma and Ruby of Cheyenne, all of who are living with their parents. Flora Lorene preceded him in death. Many friends mourn the loss of one who has lived among them and carried himself in such an upright, gentlemanly manner as has Homer Haigood. Indeed the loss of such a friend and relative is to be felt with great sorrow. All of the near relatives and several of the more distant relatives were present at the funeral. The body was laid to rest in the Cheyenne Cemetery after funeral services held at the Baptist church Sunday afternoon. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Roger Mills Archives http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/rogermills/rogermills.html
