Clarence Conkle officiating. Burial was under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Jo Elena Haines was born April 1, 1926 at Hammon to Andrew, Sr. and Effie Snook Creach and died June 23, 2007 at the age of 81. She graduated from Hammon High School and moved to Bakersfield, California where she was employed with Pacific telephone where she lived until 1945. She was married to Robert Eugene Haines on December 31, 1949 at Shamrock, Texas. They made their first home in Amarillo, Texas and then back to Bakersfield and in 1948 moved to Elk City. They moved from Elk City to Purcell in 1953 and then back to California and then returned to Elk City in 1971 where they remained. They owned and operated a service station, body shop and a wrecker service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Haines on March 1, 1997, parents, a son, David Andrew Haines, a brother, A.G. "Buck" Creach and a granddaughter. Survivors include twwo children, Tim Haines of Hammon and Mary Branham of Elk City, four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
