Burial will be at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral service. John Steven Hartman was born December 9, 1928 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Oma and Frank Hartman and died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 78. Steve attended school at Sayre where he was an accompolished wrestler and earned many awards. After graduasting from Sayre High School in 1948, he owned and operated Steve's Grocery on west Main Street in Sayre. He was married to Biddie (Betty) Rose Frazier at Sayre on January 20, 1950. In 1958, they moved to Merced, California and Steve began his career in auto sales. He started as a salesman and eventually became the Sales Manager at Gaestel Ford and later was the Sales Manager at John Roth Chevrolet. They remained in California untilo the fall of 1989 when he retired and they returned to Sayre to maker their home. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one brother, Richard Hartman. Survivors include one daughter, Steva and Gary Adams of Sayre; two sons, Wayne Hartman and wife, Linda of Sayre and Aaron Hartman of Sayre; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
