Winona Moreland, 17. Ralph Hartman, 19 Grace Dees, 19. 11-Aug-1930 ========= Did Not Return To Scene The three young couples apparently were racing with persons whom they did not know, as the identity of the occupants of the other car was never learned. The othet car was in advance and passed the truck successfully, but the car containing the three couples crashed into it. As far as is known, those in the front car did not know of the accident, as they did not return to the scene. The Waddell girl suffered a fractured skull and was rushed to the Tisdal hospital immediately after the accident. The Waddell boy was only cut and bruised, and apparently was not seriously injured. While the Waddell girl's injuries are serious, they are not expected to prove fatal. Funeral Services Arranged Burkhalter and Myrtle Moreland were taken to their homes after the accident. They were reported to be suffering consideraly from shock, but were injured only slightly, if at all. The two Hartman boys are sons of J.H. Hartman, who lives west of Sayre. He is a widower and the father of two small children. His wife died only about a year ago. Winona and Myrtle Moreland are daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Moreland. Grace Dees was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dees and Burkhalter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Burkhalter. Families of all of the young people live in the Sayre community and are well known and highly respected people. Funeral services for Miss Dees were held at Delhi this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and services for Winona Moreland were to be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon with burial at the Doxey-Sayre cemetery. Rites for the two Harman brothers are to be held tomarrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Berlin. 11-Aug-1930 ========= More than 1000 persons attended the funeral yesterday of John and Ralph Hartman, of Sayre, who were killed, with two others, in and automobile collidson Sunday night. The accident occurred when an automobile driven by Kirby Burkhalter, of Sayre, crashed into a truck belonging to Booker Waddell on the Red River bridge, south of Sayre. The Hartman brothers, Miss Winona Moreland, and Miss Grace Dees, who were riding with Burkhalter, were killed outright. Funeral services for Miss Winona Moreland and Miss Dees were held Monday afternoon.
