In Before Mother Discovered That House Was On Fire. Two small children, a boy 13 months old and a little girl of 4 years, of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hill of near Sweetwater were burned to death last Sunday morning about 11 o'clock. Mr. Hill is the star route mail carrier from Sweetwater to Erick. It appears from the report given of the tragedy that Mr. Hill had gone away from home on somed mission and while Mrs. Hill was busily engaged about her housework, the two children went upstairs and closed the door to the stairway. It is supposed that in some way they set fire to a pile of quilt cotton that was piled in one corner of the upper room and that the children became frightened and gave no alarm, and were soon suffocated by the smoke. The mother's attention was not attracted by the fire until the roof was practically burned off and the ceiling was ready to fall in. The two small charred bodies were taken from the burning embers and laid to rest in the Sweetwater Cemetery. The house and continents were completely destroyed.
