She passed away November 8, 2008 at Clinton, Oklahoma at the age of 83 yeaars, 2 months and 23 days. Frances grew up in the Retrop and Port communities graduating from Retrop High School in 1943. After graduation she furthered her education at Southwest Teachers College performing her practice teaching at Stafford, Oklahoma. She was married to Jesse Elmer Hines at Sayre, Oklahoma on May 13, 1947. After their marriage they made their home on the farm Northeast of the Hammon area. To this union one son was born, Danny Wayne Hines on August 23, 1948. Throughout Frances' life she was very active in the community. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 64 years, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), GFWC, Arimanthia, Red Hatter and also a long time teacher of the LaDonna Sunday school class at the Hammon First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 1 sister, Opal Clare. She is survived by her son, Danny Wayne Hines and wife, Wanell, Hammon, Oklahomsa; grandson Steven Don Hines and wife, Mindy, Blanchard, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Stefanie Dawn Shields and husband, Rusty, Sentinel, Oklahoma; 4 great gandchildren, Hunter Hines, Blanchard, Elizabeth Hines, Blanchard, Oklahoma, Reed Shields, Sentinel, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Rosa Bea Johnson, Elk City, Oklahoma and Artilena Mooney, Cortez, Colorado; and a hosty of other relatives and friends. Services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Hammon First Baptist Church officiated by Darryl Moore and Richard Humphries. Burial will be at Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
