Dolan Ivey officiating. Interment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Visitation was Sunday and Monday at the funeral home. Mary Jo (Kauk) Horstkoetter was born February 12, 1937, at Hammon to Buster "Buck" and Edna Stinson and passed away Friday, May 28, 2010 at the age of 73. She attended Hammon Schools before her marriage to Gearold "Smokey" Kauk on December 26, 1953. They lived in Oklahoma City and Elk City before moving to Leedey in the early 1960sd. Mr. Kauk preceded her in death in 1996. In 2002, Jo moved to California and was married to John Horstkoetter on November 16, 2007. She owned and operated Jo's Country Store in Leedey for some 23 years. While in California, Jo was involved with library work. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and two brothers. Survivors include her husband, John Horstkoetter of Fairfield, California, two children, Charles Kauk and his wife Gina of Elk City, Lisa Baker and her husband Albert of Leedey, five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two sisters, Linda Kitchen of Yukon and Sue Hinton and her husband Mike of Norman; two brothers, Dean Bledsoe and his wife Carolyn of Kansas City, Missouri, Jerry Brewster and his wife Kim of Elk City and two special nieces.
