Services will be held Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 10:00 am at First Assembly of God Church in Canadian, Texas with Rev. Phillip Weitner officiating. Interment will be at East Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Georgia was born July 19, 1923 in Custer County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Ollie E. and the late Myrtle Britt Oden. She married Saint Elmo Hughes on May 14, 1941 in Hammon, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death. She had lived in Vernon since 1960. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and was a shoemaker. She is survived by one daughter, Pennie Hawley and husband Jim of Canadian, Texas; one sister, Pat Ainsworth, Malvern, AR.; one brother, James Russell Oden, Rogers, AR; two grandchildren, Dena Hood and husband Wade of Canadian, Texas and Lee Anne Bingham and husband Matt of Perryton, Texas; Four great grandchildren, Melody Hood and Laney Hood of Canadian, Texas and Ellis Bigham and Brody Bigham of Perryton, Texas and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorials can be made to the First Assembly of God Church, Hemphill Co. Hospice, 1020 S 4th St. Canadian, Texas 79014.
