Mrs. R.L. Hunt, passed away at the Musick hospital in Elk City, Friday evening, following an operation for appendicitis. Mrs. Hunt was sick less than five days, having become suddenly ill on Monday afternoon. She was taken to Elk City where she underwent an operation Wednesday and died on Friday evening at about six o'clock. Sadness reigned in the hearts of all when this sad news became known. Mrs. Hunt was all that a loving wife, mother and sister could be. She possessed a cheerful disposition and spread sunshine about her always making friends of all she met. She was ever ready with her cheery smile and words of kindness to administer to those who were sad. Her friends, one and all, felt the inspiration to attain towards higher things. Her death has caused a wave of sadness to spread over all and within the circle of the family her place is vacant forever, but all have the assurance that she fought a good fight and is now at peace with her Savior. Mrs. Hunt, Margaret E. Moore, was born in Cook County, Texas, near Maryville, February 29, 1876. Left an orphan at the age of ten years she made her home with a cousin, Mrs. Viola Willia of Kingston, Oklahoma who was present at the funeral. In 1900 she came to Roger Mills County and made her home with her brother, J.J. Moore, and a sister, Mrs. Hightower who died a few years later. She was married to R.L. Hunt September 17, 1902. To this union were born three children, Jeffa, age 17, Anita, Age 14, and Roberta age 6, who with their father mourn her loss. Besides these she leaves two brothers, J.J. Moore, and W.J. Moore, both of Strong City and a sister, Mrs. Agee of Nocona, Texas. Mrs. Hunt united with the Methodist church at the age of fifteen years and lived a Christian throughout her life. The Methodist church in Cheyenne where the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Spahr of Strong City, Sunday afternoon, was filled with flowers as tokens of the love borne Mrs. Hunt by her friends. The large crowd present gave evidence of the vast number of friends of Mrs. Hunt and family. The Eastern Star of which she was a charter member conducted the services at the graveside after which the body was placed to rest beneath a mound of flowers. The Star joins with the other friends in extending sympathy and consolation to the bereaved husband, children, sister and brothers.
