Isch was born December 29, 1937 in Reydon, Oklahoma to John Wesley and Ruby Ethel Isch. He passed away August 28, 2009, at the age of 71 years. Lester graduated from Reydon High School. He was a long-time member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church in Amarillo, Texas as well as the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. In his early years, Lester was a race car mechanic and also built race cars. He owned three Texaco Service Stations in Amarillo and retired from BWTX Pantex after 24 years of service. Lester married Virginia Parkhurst April 29, 2001 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and gardening. If there was one thing Lester was known for, it was the fact that his thumb was the greenest. He could make anything grow and make it do so in the worst of conditions. Lester's yard was in turn the most beautiful yard in town. He was also a great carpenter and handyman. He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and friends. Lester was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Joan Truitt Isch in 2000; his parents and a sister; Louella Trammell. Lester is survived by his wife, Virginia of the home; two sons, Wesley Isch and wife Latrece of Reydon, Oklahoma and Scott Isch and wife Ranae of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter Penny Fitch and husband Richard of Amarillo, Texas; step daughter, Lisa Montgomery of Reydon, Oklahoma; step-son Duane Thomas of Reydon, Oklahoma; two sisters, Elsi Leonard and husband Junior of Cheyenne and Opal Evans and husband Rodal of Canadian, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Krista Isch of Maine; Jonathan Isch and wife Charissa of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Leslie Fitch of Amarillo, Texas, Matt Fitch stationed in Middenhall England, Brooke Isch of Amarillo, TX, Sydney Isch of Amarillo, TX, Bittani Montgomery of Durham, Oklahoma, Bailee Montgomery of Reydon, OK and Brenan Cox of Reydon. He is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Rossi Baker of Durham, Oklahoma. Memorial services were held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Hillside Christian Church in Amarillo, Texas with Bob Schroeder and Roy S. Wheeler officiating. Arrangements by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the Reydon Community Center in Reydon, Oklahoma with Rev. Bob Ely officiating. Burial followed in the Cheyenne Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Services, Cheyenne, OK.
