He had suffered from a heart condition for some time. He was born May 11, 1907 near Cheyenne, Oklahoma. He was the son of Jesse L. and Carrie Jackson. He graduated from Cheyenne High School. He farmed in Roger Mills County until he moved to Missouri in 1938 where he has farmed and operated a dairy since, except the three years he spent in the South Pacific during World War II. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and an infant brother. Survivors are his wife, Della Mae, four sons, Roger of Rt 1, Aurora, Missouri, David of Crane, Emmett of Rt 1, Highlandville, Ricky of the home. Two daughters, Linda Wilson of Ponce DeLeon, Missouri, Dwalling Mapleds of Highlandville, Missouri; one brother, Dave Jackson of Reydon, Oklahoma; six sisters, Zella Swope, Pyrle Bessire, Ruby Brewer of Reydon, Oklahoma, Bertha Smith, Tucson, Arizona and Vida Arnold of portland, Oregon, two grandsons and one granddaughter, five nephews and four nieces. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Services were in the Ponce DeLeon Baptist Church. Burial in Ponce DeLeon cemetery under the direction of The Harris Funeral Home of Ozark, Missouri.
