The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Obit for Burnett Jean Russell James Burnett Jean James was born May 30, 1921 in Hartford, Arkansas to Elva Helen and Truman Andrew Russell and passed away April 9, 1995 in the Bell Avenue Nursing Ceneter at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 9 days. Jean grew up in Arkansas. She attended Oklahoma University where she met Roy Orval James. They were married on April 21, 11941 in Hartford, Arkansas. Jean lived in the Leedey community for the intervening years with the exeption of Roy's Army Service years. She and Roy moved to Elk City in 1987. Jean will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Leedey Women's Study Club and a member of the Leedey United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Roy O. James, of the home, 1 daughter and son-in-law, Mary B. and Dr. Don Meinders, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, John Patrick and Darlene Jones, Elk City, Oklahom and Roy R. and Loreta James, Elk City, Oklahoma; 1 half sister, Allison Hein, South Haven, MI; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services were at 2;00 p.m., Tuesday 11, 1995 at the Trail Cemetery north of Leedey officiated by Rev. Roy Rowlan. Services were under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service at the corner of Country Club and Washington in Elk City. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
