Jones Samuel D. Jones, the son of Marion and Catherene Jones was born at Dresden, Novarro county, Texas on April 13, 1875 and departed this life on January 13, 1954 at Reydon, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years and 9 months. He was married to Alice Mae Snider in 1899, and to this union were born six children. One son preceded him in death in 1909 and his wife, Alice, preceded him in death in 1930. He had been a member of the Methodist church since a young man and had also been a member of the Masonic lodge No. 528, Reydon, having demitted from Penelope lodge, Penelope, Texas. He received his apprentice degree in January 1910, his fellowcraft defree December 1910 and his Master Mason degree in 1911. He is survived by two sons, Earl of Penelope, Texas, and G.E. of Lubbock, Texas; three daughters, Miss Madie Jones of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Wayne Mustion of Durham, Oklahoma and Mrs. Rusty Ellis of Crawford, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Doyce, Jerry and Tommy Jones of Lubbock, Texas; Shirley and Cathy Mustion of Durham; and Linda and Genece Ellis of Crawford; two brothers, Bruce of Reydon and Rhett of Roll, Oklahoma; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Woods of Sayre, Oklahoma, Mrs. Agnes Kendall of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Mrs. Ruth Slater of Blooming Grove, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Officiating clergmen at the funeral services were Rev. Charles L. Carpenter of Reydon, Oklahoma and Rev. David Irving of Penelope, Texas. Services were held in the Reydon community building. Burial was in the Penelope cemetery, Penelope, Texas under direction of Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok
